Gabriel Chodon: The Engineer

Throughout his high school career, Gabriel Chodon has been able to achieve extensive academic achievements through ranking twelfth in the graduating class of 2021.

Gabe has described his senior year of high school as “fast, relieving, and stressful”. Seniors of the Class of 2021 have overcome many obstacles due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the online learning model. Gabe says that, “the most challenging thing about online learning has to be getting the motivation to actually do your work being that you’re sitting at your desk all day already, so having to do that even more is not ideal.” The pandemic also prompted modified college admissions, which Gabe found to be frustrating and more confusing than before the pandemic. Even with all these forces working against Gabe, he made sure that his grades were not affected, and he found ways to combat them.

Like many other top 20 students, Gabe is involved in many activities and clubs. Clubs he recommends other students join are Science Club and International club. Gabe also goes to the gym regularly, and is on the Varsity Tennis team.

Next fall, Gabe will be continuing his education at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and he will be majoring in Electrical Engineering.
