Jarred Navarro: The Future Math Teacher

Throughout his high school career, Jarred Navarro managed to achieve amazing academic achievements through being ranked sixth in his graduating Class of 2021. Jarred describes his senior year as “Busy, confusing, and rewarding.”

Jarred says the most challenging part of remote learning is, “Not being able to have personal interactions with teachers.” He overcame this by unmuting and asking the teachers for help. Some of Jarred’s favorite classes are, AP World History, AP Bio, Pre Cal Honors, AP Language, AP Physics 1 and 2 AP calculus, AP English, 10h Symphony Orchestra. For the future, Jarred currently plans to go to college at Adelphi University and major in secondary education mathematics.  Jarred enjoys to keep himself busy with other activities, such as Science club, Scouting BSA, playing games and watching a lot of Youtube.

Jarred says that the teacher that impacted him the most was Mr. Polochak, the science teacher. The most important thing Jarred has learned at the Lindenhurst High School was how to manage time. Jarred voiced that it’s very important to keep up with work.  Jarred says that the most important lesson he learned during the Covid-19 Pandemic was, “No matter how tough times are, always keep working hard.” Besides Covid shutting everything down, the biggest challenge Jarred faced during his time at LHS was keeping up with the work for all his classes. Jarred is very excited for what the future holds for him at Adelphi University.
