Cheery Churro Recipe

A churro is a type of fried dough from Spain and Portugal, as well as surrounding areas! This recipe is really simple with only 3 steps! The recipe is originally from Delia. More information will be listed here: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/24700/churros/

Prep: 10 mins

Cooking time: 10 mins

Total time: 20 mins

Yield (servings): 4 servings

The ingredients you will need for this recipe are:

  • 1 Cup of Water
  • 2 ½ Tablespoons of White Sugar
  • ½ Teaspoon of Salt
  • 2 tablespoon of Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Cup of All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Quarts of Oil for Frying
  • ½ Cups of White Sugar (after churros are done)
  • 1 Teaspoon of ground cinnamon (after churros are done)

Step 1:

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 ½ tablespoons of sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.

Step 2:

Heat oil for frying in a deep fryer or deep pot to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Pipe 5 to 6-inch strips of dough into the hot oil using a sturdy pastry bag fitted with a medium star tip. Do not put too many churros in at once. Fry until golden; drain on paper towels.

Step 3:

Combine ½ cup of sugar and cinnamon. Roll drained churros in cinnamon and sugar mixture

I hope whoever tries this recipe thinks it’s very good! Please be very careful working with hot oil, make sure to have an adult with you just in case!
