If you're looking for a song that has a 80’s type of vibe to it and good feeling then you found the right one! It won’t be everybody's forte but those who are into that kind of style would probably enjoy this song. The song is about how love consumes her. In the song she says , “ There's the itch But I'm not supposed to scratch” , probably referring to how she wants and thinks about love and it is ...

“Love Me More” is an upbeat, catchy tune just released by Mitski on January 12th, 2022. If you don’t know who Mitski is, she is a Japanese-American singer who is most known for her very emotional lyrics and almost indie girl music. It was pretty good but it might not be for everyone. The music video is kind of creepy and disturbing but in a good way. The puppets and creepy dolls were very biza...

There’s something about Mitski’s music that is deeply applicable to the experience of adolescent and teenage girls, particularly those who are not white. Her new single, “Love Me More” is a continuation of this trend. Overall, the song is different from her other music, instrumental wise. It has a retro vibe, with a hint of “Take On Me” by A-ha.  While the majority of her audience is young ...

"Love Me More" is an upbeat yet dramatic song. The song demonstrates feelings of hopelessness and desperation because of the lyrics itself. The lyrics itself are repetitive, however she tells a story with the tempo by setting a specific mood. The tempo makes the listener feel on edge as if something more is coming. Mitski states “ Here’s my hand, there’s an itch but I’m not supposed to scrat...

The long three year wait after Mitski’s album Be The Cowboy, she recently released her new album Laurel Hell, which contains her new song, “Love Me More”.     It can be said that “Love Me More” can possess a large audience with it’s universal themes of loneliness and love.  Those themes sound like they shouldn’t mesh together, however Mitski takes the challenge and nails it.  She ...

An upbeat tune. Instrumentals taken straight out of the 80s. Mitski might not be the artist coming to mind, but in her new single “Love Me More”, the beloved singer of “Strawberry Blond” ventures into new fields.  For those of you who weren’t introduced to Mitski on TikTok during the pandemic, when instant classics like “Washing Machine Heart”, “Nobody”, and “First Love/Late...

"Love Me More" is a song that can be interpreted in many different ways, which is a great factor in Mitski’s music. Her new album, “Laurel Hell,” gives you a lot of emotion to unravel and interpret however you’d like. This song’s main intention is to use the contrast of the upbeat instrumental and singing and the lyrics to capture the listener. This song is really catchy and meaningful to...

In February 2022, Mitski released a new single for her album Laurel Hell and it was an excellent choice for a single. The song, called “Love Me More” has a unique flair to it. Unlike many songs that were released in the last few years, “Love Me More” has a distinct and recognizable sound. The instrumentation is upbeat and retro-sounding and sounds like something straight out of the 80s. In contra...
