“Love Me More” is a song that can be interpreted in many different ways, which is a great factor in Mitski’s music. Her new album, “Laurel Hell,” gives you a lot of emotion to unravel and interpret however you’d like. This song’s main intention is to use the contrast of the upbeat instrumental and singing and the lyrics to capture the listener. This song is really catchy and meaningful to me which is why I like it so much. The way I interpret this song is how tiring it can be to be truly in love. In the music video it shows Mitski running around in what looks to be a circle and visually expressing her over-exertion and extreme emotional output. She also has a bunch of “perfect” poses drawn out on the walls and floors and she mimics all of them, showing how she tries so hard to be perfect to earn the love she wants from her partner.
