Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a good sequel to a good movie. The first movie released to great reception in 2020 and is commonly considered to break the “Bad Video Game Movie Adaptation Curse”. Now, 2 years later, a sequel has been released to positive reception.

The movie focuses on Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles trying to find an emerald that can destroy civilizations before it falls into Dr. Robotnik’s hands.

The voice cast is outstanding. Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey have improved their already great performances from the first movie. Idris Elba and Colleen O’Shaughnessey are also very good performances as Knuckles and Tails, respectively.

This movie, like the first one, has very good animation that interacts with the real world cleanly. It is very easy in live action movies with animated characters to have the animation stick out and look jarring when compared to the real world, so the movie looks visually impressive.

The movie is very fun and most people who liked the first movie will enjoy this one. Considering Sonic The Hedgehog 3 has already been confirmed, it will be interesting to see how long the creators keep up this level of quality.
