Where the Crawdads Sing

Where the Crawdads Sing is a coming-of-age murder mystery which follows Kya Clark (Daisy Edgar-Jones), a girl who lives in the marsh of North Carolina, as she tries to navigate the dangers of the outside world by herself.
This movie stood out among the other movies of 2022 because of its overall mystery to it. As the audience follows Kya’s complicated life, we also follow Kya along her murder trial where she is accused of killing town football star, Chase Andrews (Harris Dickinson).

While the movie progresses, the audience is constantly faced with the question of whether or not she really commit this crime?

Another factor of this movie that stood out was the acting. The acting brought laughter, sadness, and anger when it was needed and kept the audience entertained the entire time.

Although this movie is a live-adaption, the overall story seemed to have stayed true to the book and kept the mystery of the story at its core.

Overall, Where the Crawdads Sing was my favorite movie of 2022.
