On Wednesday, October 31st, the Lindenhurst community was brought together for the fourth annual Trick or Trunk that was held at the Gazebo on Wellwood avenue.  Trick or Trunk is an event where kids can safely trick or treat out of car trunks of volunteers cars. The event had 17 trunkers who showed up with their decorated car trunks filled with candy for the children.

Lindenhurst residents Lisa and Rocco Patto played a big part in planning the event.  Their planning started back in July with help from the village of Lindenhurst, law enforcement and other local volunteers.  Along with the 17 trunkers was The Apt 84 Bus brought by Catherine Ovejas.  The bus went from an ordinary school bus to a spooky, haunted apartment bus.  There was furniture covered in cobwebs and scary props that had children shaking in their boots.

Besides spooky decorations, the event provided the people with 25 boxes of pizza from Mr. G’s pizza.  Vinny from Mr.G’s was a huge help in keeping the children and parents satisfied as always, considering he’s been contributing to Trick or Trunk for the past three years.  The event planners received a lot of help from the DJ, Harry Heitmuller, who has also been involved in Trick or Trunk since the beginning.  He did an awesome job playing tunes to keep the children in their Halloween spirit.

There were also contests for best trunk and best costume.  The best trunk was given to Ron and Danielle from Bouncemasters, who also brought a bounce house.  They had an eerie girl sitting in a rocking chair next to their trunk full of skulls wrapped in caution tape.  The best girl costume went to a little girl named Sienna, who dressed up as Living Dead Doll and the best boy costume went to a little boy named Jake, who dressed up as the Marshmallow Man.

Based on the fourth successful Trick or Trunk, the Lindenhurst community can expect to see many more Trick or Trunks in the future.
