Teachers’ Pets

We all have one thing in common. We are all pet lovers, even teachers! Dogs, cats, hamsters, bunnies, even fish! Pets are great companions and I am sure pet owners can agree with this, pets become a big part of the family. Many pet owners have funny or cute stories about their pets. Let’s introduce you to some teachers’ pets.
Meet Ms.Kollarik’s dog, Henry!
Henry is Ms. Kollarik's dog. He is a Sheep-a-doodle. A sheep-a-doodle is an old English sheepdog and Poodle. What an interesting breed. Henry, just like many dogs, loves to go to the beach!
Meet Mr. DiTomasso’s dog, Daisy!
Daisy is Mr. DiTomasso's dog. She is a three year old Shih Tzu who loves to run, play, and cuddle. Daisy fills Mr. DiTomasso's home with both love and chaos on a daily basis! But, who could really get mad at that cute face?

Meet Mrs. Tand’s dogs, Hobbs & Corduroy!
Meet Ms. Tand dogs, Hobbs and Corduroy. Hobbs is a Golden retriever and Corduroy is a Golden doodle. Hobbs is from a rescue from Turkey. Corduroy likes to play and give kisses and Hobbs likes to sleep on people's laps. What two lovable dogs!
Meet Ms. Lipari’s dog, Brooklyn!
Ms. Lipari's dog, Brooklyn, is a playful dog. She just loves to play! Brooklyn is an Amstaff which is part of the Pitbull family. Brooklyn is super sweet and hyper. She is such an amazing dog. Brooklyn is a rescue and turns out, Ms. Lipari got Brooklyn from one of her students. Her student was Brooklyn's foster mom and sadly, two days before Ms. Lipari's daughter went into surgery, their other rescue...
Meet Mr. Tighe’s dogs, Carmela & Dutch!
Carmela and Dutch are both Black labs mix. They are both rescues. Carmela came from Bideawee and Dutch came from the Kent Animal Shelter. They both love playing around in the dog park and they love their belly rubs. They also play nicely with other dogs.
Meet Mr. Smith’s dog, Jade!
Jade is a mix of a German (or Dutch) Shepherd and Belgian Malinios. She was rescued from the Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh. Jade loves to go on walks, meet new people, chase birds, squirrels, and cars. She loves her owner most of all! Jade can't wait for summer; she loves to spend her time at the beach with Mr. Smith and other all kinds of fun people.
Meet Mr. Cullen’s dog and cats, Boone, Sergeant Tibbs, & Figero!
Meet Boone the Bernese Mountain Dog as well as Sergeant Tibbs and Figero, the two tuxedo cats. Boone was rescued from West Virginia, Sergeant is from Lindenhurst, and Figero was a Bay Shore rescue. The three of them like to cause trouble together, but who could get mad at these adorable pets?
Meet Mrs. Mackiewicz’s dogs, Lola & Buckley!
Buckley is a Cavadoodle and his sister, Lola, is a Toy Poodle. They are both nine years old. They like to play outside, sleep, and steal food from Mrs. Mackiewicz's son.
Meet Mrs. Heaney’s dog, Brewster!
Brewster is Mrs. Heaney's dog, he is a Lab and Beagle mix. He is a sweet and loyal as well as handsome dog! Brewster enjoys doing anything that involves him and his family. He was adopted from a teacher who works at Daniel Street who was fostering him.
Meet Ms. Floresta’s dog, Joey!
Joey is a English Bulldog and Beagle mix. He is the best boy in the world! Joey likes to chase animals out of his yard. As well as playing ball and like other dogs, he loves his treats.
Meet Mr. Ferrara’s cat, Bacon!
Bacon is the cat of Mr. Ferrara. He is a Russian white cat. Bacon enjoys staring at Mr. Ferrara while he watches TV, laying down in catnap, and eating.
Meet Ms. Ricciardi’s dog, Trixie!
Trixie is a little mutt. She is part Beagle/Jack Russel Terrier and maybe some Chihuahua. Which is a unique mix! She was rescued from Louisiana. Ms. Ricciardi adopted her through Pet Rescue in Westchester, NY. She found Trixie on petfinder.com. Trixie loves to go for walks and play outside. She also loves playing with other dogs too.
Meet Ms. Kannavos’s dog, Rocky!
Rocky is a Peek-a-poo. A Peek-a-poo is a Pekingese and Poodle mix. Rocky loves snuggles and cuddles. He also likes to go for walks, play catch, go for car rides, and sniff the wind.
Meet Mrs. Lederer’s dog, Leddie!
Leddie is a Maltese and Shi tzu mix. He loves to eat and snuggle with his family. He is an adorable dog with a very cute name!
Meet Ms. Bottachiari’s dog, Jager!
Jager is a 6 year old German Shepherd. He loves to walk and play fetch with his frisbee. Jager likes to pop his head into the local storefronts to say hello, he is loved by locals who happily welcome him into the store so he can look around. An interesting thing about Jager is he comes from a family of working dogs. His mother was a narcotics detection dog, his father was a Schutzhund III trained dog...
Meet Ms. Cuozzo’s pets, Princess Smudge, Bambi & Pumpkin!
Ms. Cuozzo sure has a handful of pets! Princess Smudge is a Domestic short hair cat and Bambi and Pumpkin are both Pekapoo (pekingese poodle) twins. The three of them love to hunt, sleep, and play with their toys. Bambi and Pumpkin (The twin dogs) were an impulse buy. Ms. Cuozzo had two rescues from the town of Babylon, so in total she has four dogs. ...

Yes, they are all cats! The three of them love to chase their toys, be loved and pet, snuggle with each other, and play in boxes. Thee three of them were adopted from the League for Animal Protection. These three cats are truly adorable!
Meet Ms. Salitsky’s dog, Sasha!
Sasha is a Weimaraner. She has a lot of energy, she loves running around, and enjoys sleeping on top of Ms. Salitsky! Also, Sasha has very long whiskers to which she resembles a seal. When she falls asleep she gives out a very loud sigh and is a loud snorer!

Meet Mrs. Vona's dog, Coco! She is a Chocolate lab and hound mix. Coco was rescued from Happy Tails Rescue group. She loves peanut butter, chasing squirrels, and working as a lifeguard at Mrs. Vona's backyard pool!

Pepperoni is a rescue from Crittery Calvary in Tennessee. He is the perfect addition to the Lyons Den and is the most vocal dog they have ever known. He loves to sing!
Meet Mrs. Kelly’s Dog – Soi!
Mrs. Kelly adopted Soi in September from Almost Home Rescue in Patchogue. She is rescue from Thailand. Soi is extremely affectionate and loves people, kids, and other dogs. Considering she was a street dog, she's adapted pretty well to domesticated life. Most of the time, you can find her curled up in her bed! She's not a big eater, but loves to play in the yard and go for walks.

Meet the McGuire’s Pups!
Look at these two purebred Labrador Retrievers, Jewel (3 yr old silver) and Aspen (6 yr old yellow).
