Daniel Street School’s New Assistant Principal
In the 8 years that Mrs. Domanico has been Principal of Daniel Street, Mrs. Glaser is the first ever Assistant Principal. The day she began working as Principal at Daniel Street School, Mrs. Domanico asked for an Assistant Principal to help her. At the end of May, Mrs. Domanico interviewed Mrs. Glaser and she started working in July. The reason for Mrs. Domanico hiring Mrs. Glaser was that there were too many students in Daniel Street School to only have one principal. Before coming to Daniel Street School, Mrs. Glaser worked at P.S. 354, the STEM Institute of Queens. At her first job Mrs. Glaser was a teacher’s assistant. A few years ago when she worked at a different school, she had lots of experience working with the Principal and decided to become an Assistant Principal. Mrs. Glaser stated her favorite part of working is, “The amazing people that I have met and have the opportunity to learn from each day. I have learned so much from the students, staff and families, and I am so grateful that the Lindy family has welcomed me this year with open arms.” According to the article written by Melissa Kelly, “Why Become an Assistant Principal in a Middle or High School?” she states that Assistant Principals, “help create school-wide goals including those related to student learning and student behavior.”
We look forward to Mrs. Glaser’s help and work at Daniel Street School. It seems that Mrs. Glaser will help achieve all of Daniel Street’s goals.
