Simple Yet Special Holiday Traditions

Every family has traditions. Some traditions mean a lot to a family and may seem different for someone else. With the holiday season in the process, I’m sure many people are doing their traditions. My family has some little traditions that make up our holiday season.

On Christmas Eve. my mom likes to make pies and desserts for the next day. My sister and I love to make gingerbread houses, but they always end up falling. Later in the day, my mom’s side of the family goes over to my aunt’s house. We usually eat some type of fish. My grandpa loves telling stories, he usually ends up telling a few made-up stories that the younger kids believe. We always have big dinners and even bigger deserts. Every year, my mom and her sisters have a pie competition. They all make pies and the rest of my family rates them. There’s no prize, but it’s still amusing to watch them get competitive about pies. After, we go home. My parents my sister and I always watch Christmas movies the night before Christmas.

My family’s tradition isn’t crazy or different, but I still look forward to it every holiday season. The holiday season is always so much fun with my family and our traditions always make it better.
