Kevin Herbst: The Volleyball Fanatic

Kevin Herbst, number 13 on the 2020 school ranking and an avid volleyball player. Describing his senior year, the three words he uses are slow, boring and unique as would many seniors in this year’s unpredictable and restricted nature in midst of a pandemic.

However, even in the middle of a pandemic, Kevin says that he has not had many challenges with remote learning and has been able to adjust accordingly. This may be due to his motto of self-discipline and relaxation.

Italian, marketing management and gym have been some of the classes that Kevin finds the most enjoyable during school hours while outside of school he likes playing volleyball and video games. One problem that Kevin had with COVID is how he was not able to play the sports that he loves.

The hardest thing about COVID is that I don’t get to play sports

— Kevin Herbst

As senior year comes to a close, Kevin reflects on those who have left the most impact on his life and the one person that comes to mind is his AP world history teacher, DiTomasso. After graduation Kevin will be studying in Stevens Institute of Technology where he will major in quantitative finance.
