Black Widow

Black Widow

If I could choose the best movie of 2021, I would choose Black Widow. The plot of this movie was unlike any other Marvel film in the franchise, as it felt like real life aside from the action scenes. Marvel has produced one of the biggest movie franchises ever and every movie is amazing, but Black Widow was just on it’s own level. It has an intriguing and intense plot that keeps you at the edge of your seat. There is not a single dull moment, every second of the film has meaning. The opening scene really stood out, the way they utilized the real life conflict between US and Russia was interesting and very different. The film had a several messages throughout it, but the ones that stood out the most was female empowerment, and that family doesn’t have to be blood to be family. It relates to real life in the sense that families come in all shapes and sizes ,and that blood doesn’t equate you to being family, but it’s the special bond you have that makes you family. In Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff, Yelena Belova, Alexi Shostakov, and Melina Vostokoff were assigned to be a Russian spy family, and ended up actually becoming family in the process. They all go their separate ways for a while, but in the end are reunited and still a strong family. The cast for Black Widow is very strong, starring Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh and David Harbour. These three are very strong emotional actors that can portray many emotions through the screen helping you feel more connected and in depth with the film.
