Free Guy

In my opinion, Free Guy would be the best movie released in the  year 2021. The reason for this pick was due to its unique plot and comedic characters, especially the main character, Guy, played by Ryan Reynolds. Without spoiling too much, the movie takes place centered around Guy, an NPC, or non-player character in a video game called Free City. As an NPC he is supposed to go about every day doing the same things and saying the same things. One day, he decides to combat this and takes on the role of a normal player when he starts to feel human emotions. The acting in the movie is extremely funny, just like in most if not all of Reynold’s movies. The movie is guaranteed to get you laughing at some point or another. Apart from that, other impressive aspects of the film included the CGI, or computer-generated imagery. Due to the fact that it took place inside of a video game, the creators of the movie had the ability to be extremely creative with the CGI and they were. These are just some of the many reasons why I picked this film for best movie of 2021.
