Lindy’s Landmarks

Have you ever wondered what the Lindenhurst landmarks are?

Fireman’s Park

Fireman’s Park has a connection to Feller’s Pond. Feller’s Pond has a fountain in the middle of it that sometimes changes colors at night. Some of the trees near Feller’s Pond have memorial plaques in front of them. Fireman’s Park also has a playground, a tennis court, a softball/baseball field, and a basketball court. There are also memorial plaques for WWII/WWI veterans scattered around the park. There was a 9/11 memorial there on September 11, 2013. Fireman’s Park even has a Lending Library.

Breslau Cemetery

Breslau Cemetery was founded in 1876. The oldest stone that can be read is from March 8, 1883. As of 2022, Breslau Cemetery has been in existence for approximately 146 years.

Babylon Town Hall

Babylon covers multiple towns, with one of them being Lindenhurst. There are lights on the Town Hall building that sometimes change colors. In the area near the Town Hall building, there is a playground, a pond with some memorials/monuments, and a baseball field. There is also a time capsule that is near a gazebo. The time capsule was dedicated on October 23, 1999 and will be opened on October 23, 2099. We are not even halfway to 2099 yet, but we will be there in 77 years!

Lindenhurst Town Square

The Lindenhurst Town Square includes a mayor’s office where the mayor works, a small gazebo area where you can sit down, and a beautiful painting on the side of the wall behind the gazebo. When the Town Square gets decorated for Christmas, multiple trees with ornaments in many different colors and designs line the fence and pathway.

Venetian Shores

Venetian Shores is a beach on our Great South Bay. It has a spray park, a playground, a picnic area, and food. Sometimes, there are also live bands and music playing there.

Lindenhurst Memorial Library

The Lindenhurst Memorial Library was founded and built on July 1st, 1953. It has been around for approximately 69 years, and is also one of the 56 libraries that are part of the SCLC (Suffolk Cooperative Library System).
