Efrain Laguna Ranked 17th in the Class of 2019

Efrain Laguna: The NHS President

Efrain Laguna has achieved a very high rank among his peers, through his hard work he has the honor of being ranked seventeenth in his graduating class of 2019

For a Top Twenty student, extracurriculars as well as grades are very important. Throughout school, Efrain has participated in many extracurricular activities, such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, Global Goals, and was the Track Team’s Captain. He also enjoys going for runs, hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and surfing.

When asked where he saw himself in 10 years, he said “I would see myself travelling the world and helping people, probably in Europe.” For a career Efrain wants to work in global health, possibly with Doctors Without Borders. With all these aspirations, you need inspirations, and according to Efrain “The people who have inspired me are my advisers, and Coach Lombardo.”

Efrain describes his senior year as “fast, memorable, and exciting.” With such a busy year, he has made many memories in Lindenhurst High School. Efrain has said the things he will miss most are friends, activities, and extracurriculars. Some of his favorite classes were AP Bio because of the great teachers and field trips, AP U.S. History, and his Spanish courses.

High school isn’t just a time for academic learning, but also a time when people learn more about themselves. Important things he has learned is that “throughout high school, you change a lot, and in many ways you come out of it a completely different person”.

For all of his efforts and achievements, Efrain wants to thank his family, teachers, and coaches.
