“Mjolnër, Hammer of Thor” – Amon Amarth – Berserker

Amon Amarth is known for their epic songs which tell the tales of the ancient vikings and this song is no exception. The song begins with a beautiful guitar harmony and leads into an energizing guitar riff. The combo of guitars, drums, and Johan Hegg’s legendary vocals is sure to get you pumped up. It is the perfect song for doing any sort of exercise or if you want to simply have fun.

“Human Target” Thy Art is Murder – Human Target

Thy Art is Murder is set to release their new album on July 26th. “Human Target” was released as a teaser for the new album and it has created a lot of excitement among the fan base. The song is brutal and exciting. It draws back to many familiar sounds which make Thy Art is Murder such an iconic band, but also manages to feel brand new with the experimental vocals. This is one of the best songs the band has ever put out and it gets me very excited for their new album.

“Forgiveness is Weakness”Whitechapel – The Valley

Whitechapel released their new album on March 29th. The Valley is quite a dark album. It deals with the many bad experiences that the vocalist, Phil Bozeman, had during his childhood. What makes this song so great is that it conveys emotion very well. The fast guitars, brutal vocals, and pounding drums perfectly embody the anger and resentment that is conveyed through the lyrics.

“Voices”In Flames – I, The Mask

“Voices” is the opening track for In Flames’ most recent album, I, the Mask. In my opinion, this track was the perfect choice to open such an album. It begins with an absolutely beautiful buildup that sets the mood for the rest of the album. The shifts between extreme vocals and clean singing is one of In Flames’ greatest trademarks and this truly highlight the song’s beauty. This song is great for those who might not enjoy the ferocious nature of most metal songs.

“Remorse Is for the Dead” – Lamb of God – Ashes of the Wake

Although this album was released in 2004, the 15th anniversary edition was released this year to honor one of Lamb of God’s greatest albums. Listening to this song brings back so many memories of jamming out and playing the songs from this album on guitar. It was very hard for me to choose a song out of this album because it is just so perfect. Every song has amazing guitar riffs and Randy Blythe does a great job on the vocals. I suggest listening to the whole album because it is widely agreed to be one of the best records in heavy metal history.
