Do We Really Need Homework?
My OpinionKids should not have to go home and do hours of homework each night. This puts unneeded stress on kids that we don´t want. Kids should be able to go home and relax and recharge for the next day. Homework takes family time away. For example, instead of talking to their family at the dinner table, kids are worried about finishing their homework. We go to school for 6-8 hours a day, that should be enough time to get all of our work done in class. |
Studies ShowAccording to USA Today, “Godley Elementary School teacher Brandy Young told parents research doesn’t prove homework improves performance. So, she said, time after school is best spent eating dinner as a family, reading together, and playing outside.” This shows how homework isn’t the best thing to do after school for kids. They should learn social skills and learn how to do things that happen out of school. |
