Halloween is quickly approaching, which means fall and Halloween celebrations are in full swing. These major events will put you right in the fall spirit. You can go all out and enter a pumpkin pie baking contest or stroll about, relishing the crunch of leaves under your shoes and the chilly mist on your face. So, let the fall festivities begin! Here are a few of the top festivals in Long Island! 

Number 1: FINK’S FARM FALL FESTIVAL 

Keep an eye out for the corn cannon and pumpkin slingshot at this event. Character sightings, a human hamster wheel, musical performances, animals, pony rides, and pumpkin gathering are just a few of the activities at the farm. Fink’s Country Farm is at Wading River, 6242 Middle Country Rd. Fink’s farm currently hasn’t set a price yet, so for more information make sure to find out on their website! Fink’s Farm is open on weekends from September 11 through October 31 at 10 a.m. Make sure to go there while it lasts! 

Number 2: THE DEES’ ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL

Animals, carnival games, a haunted walk, pumpkins harvesting & decorating is all available, more will be available at Dees’ Nursery & Florist. Dee’s Nursery is located at 69 Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside. This place is fantastic and definitely is worth your while. Up to 6 persons, $8.99 per person; beyond that, $1 per person. Number 3: FRIENDS OF ROCK HALL COUNTRY FAIR

The 35th Annual Country Fair is hosted by the Rock Hall Museum and the Town of Hempstead. If you enjoy live music, ancient historians, a pumpkin patch and many other things, then this place is just for you! Craft making is also available. There will be artisan foods and snack vendors, a pet farm, carnival rides, and other activities available. Visitors will be able to visit the museum, it is completely free to attend. All contributions support Friends of the Rock Hall Museum, which is located at 199 Broadway in Lawrence and may be reached at friendsofrockhall.org. The hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 23 and 24.
