As another great school year begins, the students of Lindenhurst High School start searching for clubs that they would find interesting and love to participate in. Our school has a wide selection in which the students can choose from. From Chess club to Debate club, to even Key club, our school has it all. In fact, we have a new club that is re-opening this year. You might remember our High School holding a Family Science Night when you were younger. You were able to go to each classroom that was on the first floor and do different, unique, and fun activities. There were projects that involved gak, slime, bubbles, and electricity. There was even a fossil room that you could go too! That amazing night was all created by the fantastic members of the Science Club and their advisor Mr. Polochak! Polochak even stated, that “the Science Club is coming back and that they’re coming back strong.”

Unfortunately, the Science club disbanded soon after that causing a lot of sadness and grief to float above all of the students. However, I have some wonderful news that all of you would love to hear. The Science Club is back and making changes for the better! I’m also here to tell you that the club is looking for members and accepting anyone who loves science like we do. It doesn’t matter what grade you’re in or what classes you have, or even if you’re in another club! You’re welcome to come by and join our little family. The club is planning on joining in on a lot of events that our school plans out, such as Safe Halloween, as well as an area of the school for Christmas, and even try to do little activities for Earth Day. That isn’t all we plan on being a part of either, but I’ll keep that a secret for now.

If you want to know more about the club or the plans the club has for the near future, then you should stop by room 153. It’s at the end of the language hallway by all of the other science rooms. The first meeting was on September 26 and the club plan on meeting every Tuesday until they are fully ready for a schedule. They’re looking for students who are willing to give it their all. If you join the Science club, you have to participate. They plan on working very hard to get where they need to be. The members are hardworking and give their time, even with their busy schedule. All our members help out in any way they can. They all hope you’ll come and give our club a try. Maybe you’ll love it!
