Gun Threat to School By Lindenhurst Man

Nicole Cardino, Staff Writer

Even within our own community, guns are a threat. Lindenhurst is generally safe, but no town is completely safe from the terror guns cause. Even your local pizza delivery man could be dangerous.

Robert Csak, a 32-year-old man, was one of the delivery men at Albert’s Pizza in West Babylon.  Albert’s is a very popular spot for people in the eastern side of Lindy to grab a quick slice. He was recently arrested after sending minatory voicemails to a guard at the Summit School in Upper Nyack, New York, which he had attended in 2002. Chief of Department Stuart Cameron from the First Precinct in Babylon said that this threat was, “By far the most alarming threat I’ve ever seen.” The Summit School is for students with emotional issues, so clearly he wasn’t in the right state of mind.

After receiving this threat police went to his home in Lindenhurst, but no one answered the door. The landlord opened the door for the police and that’s when they discovered a hoard of 19 long guns within his home and in the state of New York, 9 were illegal. One of these guns was extremely similar to the gun used in the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting and another had the same magazine as the gun used in the Colorado movie theatre.  This shows the profound threat this man posed. Accompanying these guns were bulletproof vests, high-capacity magazines, a gas mask, thousands of rounds of ammunition and even a crossbow. This is rather odd that this man would have such a large cache, as he has no criminal record.

He was later arrested after locating him on Route 109 while he was delivering pizzas. He is now held on $750,000 bond and $350,000 cash bail and is awaiting trial. “We really need to close that loophole and make it illegal to have possession. I want to congratulate Suffolk Police for the outstanding job they did in securing these weapons before something happens,” said State Senator John Brooks.
