The final episodes of Bojack Horseman season six seem to close the curtain.  At the beginning of the final episodes, Bojack tries to cover his past.  He then realizes he can’t run from who he is anymore; he has to face everyone. The result is losing everything, from his house to his relationships to finally understand their importance.  Even though Bojack changed positively, he fell faster before he climbed.  Every low point regressing his character even further. When his secrets got out it didn’t matter about the person he became, but the person he was.  His actions before rehab negatively cost him his job forcing him to live with Mr.Peanutbutter,  someone he deeply despised in the past. While later getting an acting job with Mr. Peanutbutter he disliked gets to try to get his life back on track.

Bojack proves to the viewer low points may lead us to change.  Even though Bojack relapsed, he always tried to beat his record of staying sober, making big goals possible through little ones. Bojack‘s best friend Todd announced, “You do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around. You turn yourself around,  that’s what it’s all about.” Emphasizing the meaning it’s never too late to turn yourself around.

Even though this is true, it is easier said than done for Bojack.  He is not used to making his own decisions after rehab and jail. One day he chooses to step out of his comfort zone, finding his own path. Ultimately due to confronting his past, one day he got calls for jobs putting his life back in order.  To Bojack, the most important thing is happiness stating, “You deserve to be happy and this is the thing that will make you happy and maybe don’t worry about being happy later and focus on how you’re happiness right now.” The final episodes teach the viewer it’s better to confront your past to move forward then go backward by running away from it.
