The 2021 NFL draft is closer than some might anticipate. There are many big name college football players within this draft, including a loaded quarterback class. These quarterbacks include Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) , Mac Jones( Alabama), Justin Fields (Ohio State), Zach Wilson (BYU), Trey Lance (North Dakota State), and Kyle Trask ( Florida). Not to disregard the fact that Heisman winner Devonte Smith ( Wide Receiver, Alabama) is in the NFL draft and is projected to go early. There are many running backs such as Travis Entenine (Clemson) and Najee Harris(Alabama). Below are the potential breakouts of the draft. There will be a brief description of the top 10 picks.

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevor Lawrence, Clemson: Lawrence is the best College quarterback ever, no one comes close. His stats were off the charts, and he won a national championship at Clemson his freshman year as a starter.
  2. New York Jets – Penei Sewell, OL, Oregon: There is much talk about the New York Jets getting Deshaun Watson over the off season, and the Jets lack an offensive line presence. This is the ideal pick for them considering he’s the best lineman in the draft.
  3. Miami Dolphins – Devonte Smith, WR, Alabama: He is the fastest player in the draft. He may be undersized, but that didn’t stop him from winning a national championship and a Heisman Trophy. Tua Tagovailoa is going to have a field day with this kid.
  4. Atlanta Falcons – Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State: Speculation shows Matt Ryan is deemed to retire soon. Justin Fields has one of the best arms in the draft if not the best. Critics think as a pro he may not make it, but he shows a resemblance of a Prime Cam Newton.
  5. Cincinnati Bengals – Greg Rousseau, EDGE, Miami (FL): Rousseau is a high risk, high reward player, after having one good year at Miami, he launched up a sports analytics mock draft list. He is projected to go fourth on many mock drafts, but he fits the Bengals needs.
  6. Philadelphia Eagles – Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech: He fits the Eagles needs with his hawk like coverage. He will fit in well in the NFC considering the high caliber receivers.
  7. Detroit Lions – Zach Wilson, QB, BYU: There is speculation to see Justin Fields and Zach Wilson flip flop. But after Fields performance in the Semi Finals in this year’s college playoff, it puts him over Wilson.  With the trade from the Los Angeles Rams, Jared Goff and Wilson will be battling for the starting job.
  8. Carolina Panthers –  Kyle Trask, QB, Florida: With many of the great quarterbacks already gone, Kyle Trask is the next best option. The Panthers want to make it back to a Super Bowl, and they won’t be able to do that with Teddy Bridgewater under center.
  9. Denver Broncos – Micah Parsons, ILB, Penn State: He is much higher on most NFL mock drafts, but the Broncos are in need of an inside linebacker, and the teams ahead of the Broncos need much more than an inside linebacker.
  10. Dallas Cowboys – Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama: The monster defensive tackle is going to be an excellent fit on the Dallas Cowboys considering they are lacking a defensive line. Barmore creates chaos in opposing teams’ backfields making him one of the best defensive tackle prospects in the draft.
  11. New York Giants- Rayshawn Slater, OT, Northwestern.
  12. San Francisco 49ers- Patrick Surtain, CB, Alabama
  13. Los Angeles Chargers- Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
  14. Minnesota Vikings- Kwity Paye, Edge, Michigan
  15. New England Patriots- Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa
  16. Arizona Cardinals- Jay Tufele, DL, USC
  17. Las Vegas Raiders- Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame
  18. Miami Dolphins- Carlos Basham Jr., DL, Wake Forest
  19. Washington Football Team- Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State.
  20. Chicago Bears- Jalen Mayfeild, OL, Michigan.
  21. Indianapolis Colts- Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida
  22. Tennessee Titans- Alex Leatherwood, OL, Alabama
  23. New York Jets- Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
  24. Pittsburgh Steelers- Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame
  25. Jacksonville Jaguars- Jaeline Phillps, EDGE, Miami ( FL)
  26. Cleveland Browns- Terrace Marshall, WR, LSU
  27. Baltimore Ravens- Levi Onwuzurike, DT, Washington
  28. New Orleans Saints- Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
  29. Green Bay Packers- Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
  30. Buffalo Bills- Najee Harris, RB Alabama
  31. Kansas City Chiefs- Charles Basham, EDGE, Wake Forest
  32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Joe Tryon, EDGE, Washington
