On October 5th, 2017, the reception for the 2017 BACCA (Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts) awards were held in Old Town Hall. Eleven students, from our very own Lindenhurst High School, entered into this contest. Out of those eleven came out a first place winner, Dylan Pereira, a third place winner, Brianna Quinn, and an honorable mention, Jennifer Buckely. During the reception both Dylan and Brianna were present and saw their own work as well as others.
Photography teacher, Mrs. Picozzi, attended the reception as well. She says, “I’m so proud of all the students. It’s a great start to what I’m sure will be a ‘picture’ perfect school year!” When students went up to receive their awards they were greeted with a handshake, a certificate, and our first and third place winners received a monetary prize as well. Our thanks go out to the BACCA board, as well as all who entered. If you were unable to make the reception, I recommend you go next year, as it’s most certain that great art is on the way!
