Rock band Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker shook the world when he popped the question to reality television star, Kourtney Kardashian! After making their relationship public on Instagram in February of this year, the two have decided to take this major step in their lives. 

Their engagement story was one that many people can only dream of. Barker proposed with a ring rumored to be worth about a million dollars on the beach at the Rosewood Miramar hotel in Montecito, California, with a romantic presentation of red and white flowers set up in the shape of a heart. The evening was full of lavish surprises, including a private dinner at an exclusive restaurant. Many family members were present and were happy to see Kourtney so happy, including sister Khloe Kardashian, and mom Kris Jenner. Several news sources have confirmed that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and Blink-182 rocker are planning a wedding, but nothing has yet been confirmed. 

But why has this engagement been breaking headlines? Of course, nothing unexpected for a Kardashian, but many fans were confused about whether or not her relationship with Barker is genuine. The reason for this is the fact that Kourtney never agreed to marry Scott Disick, the father of all three of her children. Scott and Kourtney were together for four and a half years before he proposed, and the two broke up shortly after she turned him down. The pair was the definition of an on-and-off couple, with their relationship lasting over nine years in total, but many fans are convinced that the two are soulmates. However, there was quite a list of reasons why Kourtney said yes to Travis. First of all, he never cheated on Kourtney, as being faithful was one of the things that Scott had always struggled with. Travis and Kourtney were also good friends before starting their relationship, which is something that Kourtney and Scott lacked. 

Dramatics aside, Kourtney’s family and friends have claimed that, “They are head over heels and never experienced love like this.”  As for what is next for this new couple, maybe it’s time for another Kardashian wedding?
