Thursday, October 19th is LGBT center awareness day. LGBT center awareness day is a national day created by CenterLink. It was created to bring attention to the Community Center Movement within the LGBT movement. The LGBT movement serves 40,000 people a week.  CenterLink encourages people to post about LGTB center awareness day on social media using the hashtag #LGBTCenterAwarenessDay.

LGBT center awareness day was founded in 1994. It’s all about bringing together all the LGBT centers in the nation and showing people the ways they can get involved or utilize their local centers. LGBT centers offer many services including; social services, mental health counselling, cultural programs, recreational activities, libraries, educational programs, support groups, elder support, youth support, computer access, and care and treatment.
