If you’re interested in going to New York City this spring, here are some really fun ideas and activities that you can do and explore. We will examine an awesome museum, and a super fun, and beautiful outdoor attraction. 

Orchid Show

     The orchid show is an insanely beautiful attraction. This awesome show takes place at the Botanical Garden, which is located in the Bronx. Jeff Leathman is the man behind the beautiful floral creations. Jeff is a designer that is mainly focused on floral design. This is the nineteenth year of this orchid show. Jeff’s idea behind this show is that it’s supposed to be like a big kaleidoscope. He is reinventing the kaleidoscope and he is helping people really appreciate how beautiful these orchids are. There are orchid towers of many colors such as: green, purple, orange, and yellow. This attraction is $20-30 for adults, and $12 for kids.

The MoMA

     The Museum of Modern Art is an all year round, great, and fun place to go with your friends and family. The MoMA is located in Midtown. It was founded in 1929, crazy right! At this museum there is a collection of many different forms of art. Some upcoming exhibits are “Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme: May Amnesia Never Kiss us on the Mouth,” which will be going on from April 23–June 26, and “Henri Matisse: The Red Studio,” which is during May 1–September 10. To go to the MoMA, you have to make an appointment. They offer discounts for groups over thirty. Adults are $20, seniors (65 and over) are $16, college students are $12, and children are $9. There are also selected colleges and universities that can get in for free. The following schools have one free admission: CUNY Schools, Columbia University in the City of New York, Cooper Union, Pratt Institute, SUNY Schools, School of Visual Arts, The Juilliard School, The New School, The Rockefeller University, and New York University.
