Pride Month!

There are a lot of topics to talk about towards the LGBTQ+ community. Many of these topics are very important for people to think about because knowing the history and the parades are people who put the effort into making a difference for people all over the world.
History:
LGBT+ pride month happens in the U.S. due to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which happened towards the end of June 1969. The results of this event led to many pride events held during June to recognize the impact LGBT+ people have had throughout the world.
Celebrities who support the community:
There are many celebrities who help and support the community. Some celebrities help to make a difference for people all over the world and to also make people feel that they are not alone. Celebrities who support are: Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Brad Pitt, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and Ellen DeGeneres.
NYC having parades:
The official day of the parade starting is on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 12 pm! A lot of people are excited to celebrate who they truly are without having to be afraid of people making comments about the community.
Gay Marriage being legal:
There was many efforts for same-sex marriage since the 1990s. After many years of hard work, it was made legal across the US with the Obergefell v. Hodges decision on June 26, 2015. A lot of people were so happy with this decision and made such an impact on teens in the future.
People of all ages troubles towards coming out:
People of all ages have trouble coming out to people they are close with or just people in general. It’s not because they just don’t wanna tell people it’s just they either think that the person doesn’t support them, just fear building up, not sure how they truly feel. It’s ok not having to tell people, there are many people who feel afraid to come out because of the outcome.
There is so much history towards why Pride month started. There was many efforts to make gay marriage legal which made such a huge impact on people. Though many people have their opinions towards the community, positive or negative, no matter what the opinion is, it doesn’t stop people for being who they are.
