“You” Might be for You!

Dodie Clark EP “You” Review

Brianna Quinn, Free Lance Writer

Dodie Clark is a 22 year old social media star. Her YouTube channel, doddleoddle, was started in 2011. Her first EP “Intertwined” was released in 2016. More recently she has released an EP “You.” This EP was released in August of 2017. The track consists of 6 songs, In the Middle, 6/10, Instrumental, You, Secret For the Mad, and Would You Be So Kind. They are labeled as pop songs all though a couple are more on the sad side.

The first song on the track, In the Middle, is an upbeat tune that is great for dancing.  After that it switches to an emotional song, 6/10, about the self-esteem of an “average” girl. Then comes a peaceful Instrumental. Once again we are delighted with a very upbeat song, You, but this one with a sad undertone and meaning. Next we hear a simplistic yet beautiful song, Secret For the Mad, about mental illness. Lastly is Would You Be So Kind, a twist on your average love song.

Dodie’s music can be enjoyed by anyone at almost any age and is considered by many, to be great works of art. I recommend all of you to head to itunes and check out her music, or to pop on YouTube to watch a couple of her videos!
