The decline of Netflix has been long expected by many. The company has been choosing quantity over quality and is making it clear. This is evident due to them losing popular shows like “The Office” and “Friends.” Due to Netflix removing many of their high-quality shows, the platform seems to no longer be the number one choice for many.
Netflix is bleeding subscribers, and it’s getting increasingly tough to hide the cost of how much they spent to make more originals. They tried to differentiate by making more obscure original content while other popular platforms like HBO, Disney +, and Hulu have been doing the same thing as Netflix and gotten more popular because of it. The platform also focused on its revenue drivers rather than increasing prices, causing for Netflix to lose nearly $18 Billion in value.
Popular shows like “Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” “Squid Game,” and “Stranger Things” have averted Netflix from fully falling out of the spotlight. Furthermore, these shows helped the company to make back the money they lost from the aforementioned failures.
