The 81st official Golden Globe Award ceremony was held on January 7th, 2024, at the Beverly Hilton. The ceremony was streamed on CBS and Paramount+. The Golden Globes holds many categories, with many nominees hoping to win. This year the “Best Original Song – Motion Picture” winners were Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell, with the song “What Was I Made For?” from the motion picture Barbie. For the title of “Best Motion Picture – Drama”, Oppenheimer, a film created by Christopher Nolan, was selected winner. The second category for motion pictures, “Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” was won by the movie Poor Things. The movie Barbie won the category of “Cinematic and Box Office Achievement”. The “Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama” was given to Lily Gladstone for her performance in Killers of the Flower Moon. The award of “Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama” was given to Cillian Murphy for his performance in Oppenheimer. Actress Emma Stone was given the title of “Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” for her performance in Poor Things. The category “Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” was awarded to Actor Paul Giamatti, for his work in The Holdovers. The category of “Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy” was won by the show The Bear. The “Best Television Series – Drama” was given to Succession. The “Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television”, was awarded to Ricky Gervais: Armageddon. The “Best Director – Motion Picture”, this year was awarded to Christopher Nolan, for his work, Oppenheimer. Although these were the titles presented and awarded, there were many talented and gifted performances in the year of 2023 that also deserve praise and recognition for their amazing work!
