Following claims already made against American actor, Kevin Spacey, more men have come forward with disturbing allegations of sexual assault, harassment, and predatory behavior against him. One actor who worked with Spacey at the Old Vic Theater in London claims Spacey “routinely preyed” on young male actors there. Another man said he was left uncomfortable & traumatized when he was invited to stay at Spacey’s home in New York when the actor asked him to share his bed. He declined and decided to sleep on the couch instead, but woke up to Spacey lying on top of him with his arms wrapped around him. The man, who did not give his name, says he was only a teenager at the time of the incident which took place in 1985. Another victim, U.S. filmmaker Tony Montana, told Radar Online that he suffered from PTSD for six months after Spacey allegedly grabbed his crotch in a Los Angeles bar in 2003. Montana claims that he went up to order a drink and Kevin came up to him and put his arm around him. He tried to persuade Montana to come with him and leave the bar, before forcefully grabbing his “whole package.” Montana said, “I put my hand down and turned his thumb back to get his hand off it. I paid for my drink and got away from him.”  

These allegations were all followed by revelations by actor Anthony Rapp, who accused Spacey of making a sexual advance towards him when he was 14. Spacey claims he doesn’t recall the incident, but issued an apology over Twitter and defends his actions made towards the boy with being gay, as he chose to come out in the same statement. Many viewed Spacey’s coming-out as an excuse to deflect from Rapp’s accusations. Another actor, Rob Cavazos, recalled a “couple of unpleasant encounters” with Spacey, including being squeezed by him at the Old Vic bar. He claims being told a similar story by many people of how Spacey would invite young male actors to the Old Vic to discuss their careers. And when they arrived, it is said that Kevin had arranged a picnic with champagne on the stage. More common was that Spacey was in the bar, “squeezing whoever caught his attention.”

Following these many claims against the actor who ran the theater for over a decade, the Old Vic urged anyone with a complaint of inappropriate behavior to contact them immediately. After the theater released their initial statement, they said no one had come forward to say they had been sexually harassed by the actor. This prompted the theater to take a step further and announce that they had appointed “special advisers” to take confidential calls from anyone who wishes to raise concerns about their treatment while employed or connected to the theater. The last individual to speak out against Spacey is British barman, Daniel Beal, who told The Sun that Spacey exposed himself to him and then gave him a $6,000 watch to keep him quiet. Beal explained that the incident occurred when he was 19 and having a cigarette break. He alleges that Spacey sat next to him on a bench and flashed at him saying, “It’s big isn’t it?” Beal then returned to work who was followed by Spacey who insisted he take his watch. Beal said, “I thought he was joking but he took off his watch and gave it to me. Looking back I realize it was to keep me quiet.” Beal sold the watch for $4,000 the next day.

As of now, no legal prosecutions have been made against Kevin Spacey; however his academy award winning show, House of Cards, which was in production of its sixth season, has been cancelled by Netflix following the allegations against him. Following this, Spacey has reportedly sought out treatment for his sex addiction by checking into The Meadows, a $36,000 a-month rehabilitation center in Arizona. Hopefully he can get the help he needs, and incidents like this can be prevented from happening to anyone else moving forward.
