Pre-Season Info

In the Islanders won 4 out of their 6 pre-season games. They lost against the Rangers and the Flyers. The home opener for the 24-25 season will be on October 10th, against Utah. Many fans are excited for what this season will have in store for them!

Expectations/Comments from fans of the Rangers and Islanders

After Asking a few different fans of both the Islanders and the Rangers, many mixed predictions and thoughts were made about the upcoming season. A few teachers here at the high school agreed that they are cautiously optimistic about the team. Some Rangers fans believe that the Islanders will succeed more this season than they did last season. According to a few students, they think that the Islanders might actually have a shot of getting through to the playoffs next year. Other Ranger fans think that the Islanders won’t succeed at all just because they lost against the Rangers during the pre-season game.

Blue and Orange Army Info

If you go to an Islanders game and hear a loud drum banging or see the roaring crowd in section 329, that’s the Islanders Blue and Orange Army. The Blue and Orange army is an Islanders support group with many members. For this set of Islander fans, the arena is their home away from home. They encourage all Islander fans to join the group. Many events take place with them as well, such as 3/29 day. 3/29 day is when the group gets together to skate on the ice at UBS Arena along with watching the away game being played by the Islanders. Food and drinks are served while you get to sit in one of the arena’s Hyundai Club or Belmont Hall. 

FUN FACT

Lindenhust High School’s very own MCJROTC teacher was nominated by his friend for the Islanders Veteran of the Game. He was given a jersey and his pictures were displayed on the jumbotron!
