On Friday October 18th the drama club hosted their very own haunted house here at Lindenhurst High School. The theme of the haunted house was area 51 gone wrong. The scientist at the lab found a specimen from space. While they were working the specimen somehow managed to flee from its cage. This sends the lab into a frenzy as the specimen takes over the lab, infecting all the scientists and everyone else who works there. Not only was there a spectacular haunted house but after all the running and jump scares a bake sale was hosted in the rotunda, where delicious baked goods were sold.
The event started at 5:30, When you first arrived you paid a 5 dollar entrance fee per person. The haunted house starts off with a walk through the auditorium up onto the stage where 2 scientists give you some background information on the specimen they found, when they lift up the sheet to show us what they found it’s missing! Suddenly the lights turn red and the alarms sound, the visitors start to run following the scientist trying to help them escape to safety. You are led outside where there was a UFO with aliens shooting at you! After that crazy surprise outside you are ushered back inside where you have to run through a hall of curtains with bodies at the end. Seeing safety the visitors and leading scientist run into a room where they think is safe, only it’s not. There’s a group of people standing around in a circle, what’s going on? As the visitors and leading scientist reach for the door to leave it doesn’t open. In a panic the leading scientist pushes on the door while the weird group circle people start to approach. The miraculously opens and they escape, running through the halls making it out alive with their life.
The students in the drama club gave an amazing performance. Their hard work and dedication to give the visitors a memorable experience hasn’t gone unnoticed. One of our very own journalists here at The Charles Street Times took place in this haunted house as one of the scientists who gave an amazing performance.
