Tyler, The Creator released his new album, CHROMAKOPIA, on all streaming platforms on October 28th, 2024. CHROMAKOPIA is known as Tyler, The Creator’s seventh studio album, following the previous albums, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST: The Estate Sale, IGOR, Flower Boy, Cherry Bomb, Wolf, and Goblin.
In this album, Tyler, The Creator featured the following artists: Daniel Caesar, GloRilla, Doechii, Sexyy Red, Teezo Touchdown, Lil Wayne, Latoiya Williams, Santigold, Lola Young and ScHoolboy Q. The songs that make up the album, CHROMAKOPIA, arranged in numerical order are as such: St. Chroma (featuring Daniel Caesar), Rah Tah Tah, Noid, Darling, I (featuring Teezo Touchdown), Hey Jane, I Killed You, Judge Judy, Sticky (featuring GloRilla, Sexyy Red and Lil Wayne), Take Your Mask Off (featuring Daniel Caesar and Latoiya Williams), Tomorrow, Thought I Was Dead (featuring ScHoolboy Q and Santigold), Like Him (featuring Lola Young), Balloon (featuring Doechii), and I Hope You Find Your Way Home.
Tyler, The Creator’s character made for his album, CHROMAKOPIA, is named Saint Chroma, based off of “Chroma the Great” from the book, Phantom Tollbooth. Saint Chroma is used to represent Tyler, The Creator’s restoration of his musical artististic ideas and creations by removing his mask. Chroma the Great and his orchestra fill out their own world with color, they fill out their worlds sunrise and sunset. With this, Saint Chroma and Chroma the Great are easily very similar characters, by filling in their blanks of their worlds with their own color, or rather literally color. Along with the name of the album, CHROMAKOPIA means color (CHROMA) and abundance (KOPIA), so a large quantity of color. This seems ironic, as the album cover is in black and white, but the songs give a deeper meaning as the album goes on, the color seems to come to life.
