Zayn Malik has been a solo artist since 2016, following his absence in his former band “One Direction”. Since he has been on his own, he has released 4 solo albums consisting of “Mind Of Mine” in 2016, “Icarus Falls” in 2018, “Nobody Is Listening” in 2021, and “Room Under The Stairs” in 2024.
As a result of these albums, Zayn has never been on a tour of his own to showcase his music. Following the release of his album “Room Under The Stairs”, fans were left wondering if this album would finally be the confidence booster that was needed for Zayn to get out there and promote his music via tour.
On September 17th, Zayn appeared on The Tonight Show while host Jimmy Fallon was performing his post-show monologue. Zayn silently handed off a note card which was read by Jimmy Fallon announcing that Zayn would be going on a tour titled “Stairway To The Sky” later this fall in 2024. We later learned that the tour would be postponed, following his bandmate Liam Payne’s death that occurred in mid October. He expressed that he was utterly devastated, and that he would need more time before touring. His shows were rescheduled to late November in 2024 through early January of 2025.
The tour would go across the United States and United Kingdom with 18 shows, some of which were added due to high demand. This tour will take place in relatively small venues/auditoriums such as The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Fans old and new have been waiting years for Zayn to perform his music live, as the last time he was on tour was with One Direction during the “On The Road Again Tour”, which occurred in 2015. This new chapter for Zayn Malik has been highly anticipated, and shouldn’t be one to miss!
