As the holiday season approached, New York City was ready for their biggest holiday of the year: Christmas. The Rockettes prepared for The Christmas Spectacular, their most popular show of the year.
The Radio City Rockettes are a famous dance group known for their high kicks and synchronized routines. This year, the group consists of 84 Rockettes.
The group of dancers were created in 1925 by Russell Markert and have since become a symbol of holiday cheer. The Rockettes started their performances in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to New York City in 1932. They have performed at major events such as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Their Christmas Spectacular, which began in 1933, is their most popular show and includes famous numbers like the “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and the “Living Nativity.” The Rockettes are known for their precision and athleticism, with each dancer performing up to 300 high kicks per show.
Seeing the Rockettes live at Radio City Music Hall is an incredible experience. Next winter, be sure to get your tickets fast because the show will be sold out before you know it!
