Global warming is a horrible thing that we as people have brought upon ourselves over the years, and global warming is not an easy thing to come back from. Global warming is caused by a few different factors including burning fossil fuels, factories releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, cutting down forests and so much more. Earth’s temperature has risen by 0.11 degrees Fahrenheit (0.06 degrees celsius) every decade since 1850.
The 10 warmest years throughout all of history have been the last 10 years we have lived, and they get hotter every year. People often don’t realize how dangerous and harmful global warming really is, but it brings so many burdens along with it. Around the world places have experienced changes in rainfall, resulting in more floods, droughts, or intense rain, there have been more frequent and severe heat waves, the planet’s oceans and glaciers have also experienced changes, as oceans are warming and becoming more acidic, glaciers are melting, and the sea level is rising. As these things happen they hurt animals and the people too.
Ecosystems are becoming uninhabitable for certain animals, forcing them to migrate outside of their usual patterns in search of food and livable conditions, while causing other animals to die off, causing a chain reaction. Animals are all part of a food chain, and if a species die off, others can follow. As the glaciers melt, some polar bears are losing their homes, and are dying off, they are now an endangered species. Scientists have proven that if global warming does not improve, two-thirds of the polar bear species will die off by 2050. Humans caused this problem, and we can solve it if we all contribute by saving electricity, recycling, considering an electric car, using less gas, eating more fruits and vegetables, and natural foods overall. Climate change is dangerous and it is here, we need to stop it before it becomes crucial.
