The 67th annual Grammy Awards just happened on Sunday, February 2, 2025. The Grammys took place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. This year, many musical accomplishments were celebrated, with multiple artists breaking records and making history in the music industry.

What are the Grammys? The Grammys is known formally as the Grammy Awards and is organized by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. The awards recognize talented artists and their achievements they’ve accomplished over the past year. The first Grammy Awards was held in 1959 simultaneously in Beverly Hills and New York City. 

This year, the awards that were given out at the event were album of the year, song of the year, record of the year, best pop duo/group performance, best latin pop album, best new artist, best country album, best pop vocal album, best rap album, etc… 

While the amount of awards given out was 94, only 8 were broadcasted on television. The 8 that were broadcasted were Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Duo/Group Performance, Best Latin Pop Album, and Best Rap Album. 

Who won the 8 televised awards? Album of the year was won by Beyonce for her album “Cowboy Carter.” Record of the year and Song of the year was won by Kendrick Lamar for “Not Like Us.” Best New Artist was won by Chappell Roan. Best Pop Vocal Album was won by Sabrina Carpenter for her album “Short n’ Sweet.” The Best pop duo/group performance was won by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars for “Die With A Smile.” The best latin pop album was won by Shakira for “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.” Finally, the best rap album of the year was won by Doechii for her album “Alligator Bites Never Heal.”
