Just like many famous Instagram users, Lil Miquela appears to have a near “perfect” life. She goes to parties at all the right places and attends popular gallery viewings in Los Angeles. She also shows off her designer clothes and over the top crazy nail art. Yet, who is Lil Miquela?

No one knows who or what Lil Miquela is, but everyone has their own theories about her. Some say that she’s computer animated and others say that she is a real girl but her pictures have been heavily edited. Lil Miquela currently has 461,000 followers and over 200 posts. Ever since her first selfie post on April 26, 2016, people have realized that Lil Miquela lacks many human features.

Although she acts like a real person, she really doesn’t look like one. Her skin is a bit too glossy and many of the shadows in her pictures aren’t right. The shadows are either too flat, not in the right places, or not even there at all. Because of those features, she tends to look computer animated and fake. Even though she looks like a sim or avatar, Lil Miquela posts about physical places regularly and takes pictures with other models, and musicians or artists. This is why many people get confused if Lil Miquela is actually your everyday It girl or if she is just computer animated.

Many think that Lil Miquela is a real girl, but she has been heavily edited. Although she may look like an avatar, she still has human-like features. Her eyebrows, eyes, lips, and even ears look more human-like. Editing can change things like a head shape or skin color. Lil Miquela has too many features that make her look like a sim. Such as, well, everything! From her face structure to her skin texture, nothing looks real. Many say that she is actually a sim that is advertising clothing, shoes, and jewelry. It isn’t that hard to edit clothes onto a sim and it’s a smart idea. Why wouldn’t people do that and what is stopping them from actually doing it? There isn’t anything illegal about doing so.
