When virtual reality was first introduced, people had many ideas on how it was going to “evolve.” This type of gaming, was made to immerse the player into the game. VRChat is a first person game that has no storyline or main goal, but has a vast area for exploration and many different things the players can interact with. These include many different minigames, objects that activate structures, and items people could hold that produce something when activated. Whether it’s a rollercoaster, or a minigame to face off against others in a big shootout, or drawing all around you to others to see, or as simple as picking up a glass while sitting in a restaurant, the number of things to do is too vast to completely view it all in at once. Along with this, players have a vast majority of different models for avatars and a variety of maps and areas to explore. With so many different models, people have a choice on how they appear in the game. Some are more popular than others, but people still enjoy the fact there is difference and choice. They are also not limited to the models provided. If they want to, people can create their own avatars and maps. With this feature, there will be an endless variety of different characters, maps, and objects within the game. Funny enough, this game is not all fun and games. It is rather a way to connect with one another.

VRChat is not only a game, but a social platform that allows users to interact with each other. Many players use their avatars to communicate with others as if it was their own body. From mouths moving as you speak, to the control of their hands to grab and throw things. It truly makes you feel as if you were standing there yourself and interacting with everyone and everything. However, sometimes it’s better to have some people not interact with you at all. Some people can be more ludicrous towards you, than other people would, within the game. Luckily there are some settings and features that help with this and make your experience better. One of these settings is the mute option. This allows players to mute certain people if they have a displeasing way of saying things without muting them to others. If muting them from yourself  isn’t enough, there is also the ability to remove the person from the chatroom. This feature is only given out to the person who is running the room, for the removal of players who is causing a disturbance for others within the room. The console for this game, is the “HTC Vive” that comes with the headset, controllers, and room sensors. The console itself is on the more expensive side at the price of $600. However, the game itself is a free game that can be played without the console. Sometimes the best things don’t need an expensive price.

In total, the game VRChat is a great game that both entertains and connects people together through the use of virtual reality. This game proves that there doesn’t need to be a true objective to make something entertaining, but also proves that the one of the greatest forms of entertainment is social interaction.
