Streaming Sites Are Taking Over

Streaming sites are taking over, becoming the new media and maybe even the new cable boxes. More and more people are starting to use streaming sites like Hulu, Netflix, Disney Plus, and others. There are really good reasons why people are switching to streaming sites and not to cable.

One reason is that it is cheaper, and more and more people are getting smart T.V. That means people don’t need to plug in a Chromecast or Roku T.V. and people can stream right off their T.V.

People are switching because they have more control over what they want to watch and when they watch on cable they really don’t know what will come next. People usually spend $33 on all their streaming sites and save about $85 if they don’t have a cable box. People have about 3.5 different streaming sites at once, and about 7.9 in their whole life. There are about 235 streaming sites in all, but only about 17 streaming sites people really watch or talk about. On a weekday a person watches about 1 hour and 11 minutes and on a weekend they watch about 3 hours and 43 minutes.

Streaming sites also have a negative effect on people because there were studies done and people sometimes get depression. Andrew Heinzan is a professional writer and has a bachelor’s degree in English. Heinzan states, “We’ve often thought of streaming services as our salvation from cable, but the world of streaming is starting to adopt some distinct cable television characteristics. How far will it go?” This quote means people can get even more depressed if it carries on because other studies show that people also got depressed when people were watching T.V. to much.

That is why people should switch, but not get addicted to streaming sites.
