Fetty Wap – from one of the biggest music artists around 2016, to now being released on a $500,000 bond. The rapper was charged with conspiracy to distribute drugs throughout Long Island and New Jersey.  He put up his Georgia home as part of his bail package.  The arrest came just before he was scheduled to be on stage at his Rolling Loud performance.

Federal prosecutors allege that Fetty, along with five others, distributed more than 100 kilograms of cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, and crack cocaine across New Jersey and Long Island. For the conditions of his release, Fetty will be required to wear a GPS monitoring device and he must submit to random drug testing. He must also surrender his passport and receive approval before traveling. The feds obtained $1.5 million in cash, 16 kilograms of cocaine, 2 kilograms of heroin, fentanyl pills, pistols, handguns, and a rifle. It was said that the drugs were obtained from the west coast then would be transported to Suffolk County, where they store everything at their home base.

He is due back in court on Nov. 24. The rapper was arrested just a week after his 2nd album was released, The Butterfly effect, which was inspired greatly by the death of his 4 year old daughter earlier this year. The rapper also just recently broke his silence about the charges and took what he had to say to Instagram: “Loyalty can be both a great trait and a deadly one … choose wisely with who you stand with but never change what you stand for Never bend Never Fold,” “Head up like a nose bleed #ImOnBorrowedTime if it ain’t life it ain’t forever I’ll be back better wiser and smarter.” It sounds like Fetty knows he might be going away for a while and is preparing himself. Fetty also played at Power 105.1’s Powerhouse 2021 concert in Newark, New Jersey on this Sunday, November 21, for the first time since the arrest. If the rapper is convicted, he could be facing life in prison.
