Imagine wanting to see the Times Square Ball drop for New Year’s Eve but not wanting to stand in the freezing winter weather. Your wait is over, for the first time in history, the Times Square ball will drop on July 3, 2026 at midnight celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. Usually, people start lining up New Years Eve really early to get good views of the ball drop waiting hours in the freezing cold. Planning to see the ball drop in July will look much differently. No bulky jackets, gloves, earmuffs or hand warmers. Instead, we will have sunglasses, ice cream and red, white and blue confetti. For some New Yorkers, this historic moment is not an event that should be missed. Plans are underway to start celebrating America’s 250 years of Independence.
