Premiering this month, May 27th, 2026, all eight episodes of the spin off show of Spider-Noir released all at once on Prime Video, or two days earlier on MGM+. Starring Nicolas Cage as Spider-Noir, also known as Ben Reilly, the show focuses on a fan favorite from the Marvel Comics, or better known from the Into the Spider-Verse series, in his universe during the 1930s in New York. Spider-Noir will be released in two versions, “Authentic Black and White” and “True Hue Full Color”. As seen in Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Noir is colored in only black in white, but in Marvel’s Comics, Spider-Noir’s surroundings have hints of color, while he still has the black and white suit. The private investigator Ben Reilly, who’s unlucky and getting older, has to go back to his old life as being Spider-Noir once more to uncover a unique new case in New York.
Spider-Noir’s first ever appearance was in his own comic in February 2009, Spider-Man: Noir #1. Created in the Marvel Noir universe, also known as Earth 90214, which also includes many other Noir characters, examples being the X-Men, Daredevil, and Iron Man. Spider-Noir was the first creation of the series, where Marvel Noir is focused on a 1930s crime superhero genre. In Marvel Comics, Spider-Noir’s name is Peter Parker, much like other Spider-Men, he is bitten by a venomous spider in a spider-god idol. He has a vision of the spider-god promising power, and is then awoken in a spider’s cocoon, and comes out with spider-like powers. Unlike other Spider-Men, Spider-Noir is known for using brutal attacks against his enemies, but later on, he struggles with moral consequences and risks in life. Spider-Noir goes through many historical events, such as the Great Depression and World War II. Spider-Noir was also only supposed to be a four part miniseries, but people loved it and now Spider-Noir is soon to come out with his own show.
