About a week ago on May 12th, Netflix came out with the second season of the animated series, Devil May Cry. The adult television show is based on the Japanese video game, under the same name, created by Capcom. In the first season of Devil May Cry, Dante, a demon hunter and the main character, has to go against the White Rabbit and his schemes against humans, while also being hunted by a human soldier named Mary Ann Arkham. She was nicknamed Lady by Dante and became known by that name in the second season. She works for Dark Realm Command (DARKCOM), a government organization run by the Vice President William Baines. A week after the first season premiered, Netflix renewed the show for a second season on April 10th, 2025.
In the newest season, a war has broken out between the human realm and demons, while Dante is still frozen since the last season. Dante’s twin brother, Vergil, who seemed to be dead, returns to Earth and fights for Hell’s leader, Mundus. When they were kids, their home was attacked by demons, resulting in their mother’s death and Vergil’s kidnapping. At first, Dante believes he has to go against Mundus and work for the United States government, but he soon finds out with Dante and Lady’s help that the leader of the government Arius is the real enemy, who wants to resurrect Satan to gain power. Dante, Vergil, Mundus, and Lady all fight together to defeat Arius, and with the truth of the past, Vergil goes against Mundus to avenge his mother and the separation of his family. While the brothers end up separated again, Dante has to find a way to get back to him or find another way to move on.
