Hurricanes

Hurricane season has just begun and New England was recently warned about a hurricane on the way. The hurricane that was thought to be a threat has faded and did not affect New England as hard as it was expected to. Although there was some rain in New England and Canada, the effects were much less destructive than what was being said.

The remnants of Hurricane Lee are bringing heavy rain to the United Kingdom. After heavy rainfall in Canada, the storm was pushed up to Britain and they will be experiencing heavy rain and winds after just undergoing a heat wave. Due to hurricane Lee, a man was killed while in his car after a tree fell onto his car because of the heavy wind and rain.

Hurricane Lee was suspected to be the second real hurricane to hit the east coast of the United States, New England. The only other really destructive hurricane that has hit the eastern part of the United States was a hurricane in 1938. This frightened many people that live along the east coast because nothing like this hurricane has happened for a long time. Everyone got lucky that the storm ended up calming down because it would’ve been extremely dangerous and destructive.

Another hurricane was reported to be moving in the Atlantic known as Hurricane Nigel. It is believed to reach a category 2 status. The storm isn’t presumed to hit anywhere directly but can cause beach and coastal hazards along the east coast of the United States.

Hurricanes are unpredictable and can change their course as they go. Hurricane season is a scary time for many people that live on the coasts of the United States and other countries. It’s always important to be aware of storms on their way to areas near you and others.
