According to educators worldwide, the newer generation is in dire need of help. This generation, known as Generation Alpha is proving to be exponentially behind in academic and social achievements. Leaving teachers and adults alike frightened due to their crazed behavior. This epidemic is a cause for questions, such as Why? And How can it be corrected?

Academic achievement is a crucial step on the journey to success. The new generation of Students is recorded to have substantially less than grade-level achievements compared to years prior. Hence teachers over social media began to come forward, sharing their horror stories of disrespectful and traumatizing student interactions. The deficiencies present are leading to concern and frustration among school officials. Not only are grades immensely downgrading, but so is the behavior of students. Teachers over TikTok report defiant students who seem to have no respect or morals. TikTok user @attemptedsoc displays her disappointment claiming how she first hand witnessed the behavior shift of today’s children. Additionally, literacy problems continue to increase in Generation Alpha. Combining the two creates a bad reputation for the newest generation. 

No one culprit is to blame however many question as to whether technological advances such as Ipads are influencing this behavioral shift. Moderation is Key, technology such as ipads is okay in moderation and may even be beneficial however too much of anything is not good. To conclude, it is important to supervise todays children and help lead them in the right direction.
