Taylor Swift: Grammys and New Album

Taylor Swift: Grammys and New Album

This year, the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, which was held on February 4th, 2024. The Grammys were held at Crypto Arena, in Los Angeles, and hosted by Trevor Noah. This year, Taylor Swift was nominated in 6 different categories consisting of, “Best Pop Vocal Album” (Midnights), “Best Pop Solo Performance” (“Anti-Hero”), “Album of the Year” (Midnights), “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” (“Karma Ft. Ice Spice”), “Song of the Year” (“Anti-Hero”), and “Record of the Year” (“Anti-Hero”). Out of these 6 nominations, Taylor Swift took home 2 of the titles, which were “Album of the Year”, and “Best Pop Vocal Album.”

When Taylor Swift won “Best Pop Vocal Album,” she announced that she has a brand new album coming out on April 19th, called “The Tortured Poets Department.” This absolutely shocked fans, as this is the second time in the past few years that Taylor has announced a brand new album on an award stage (latest being her album “Midnights” at the MTV VMA’S in 2022). At the Grammys, Taylor also created history by being the only artist to EVER win “Album of the Year” 4 times! \

With the release of the new album, Taylor released the tracks of the album on the 5th. The album consists of 17 tracks, named, “Fortnight (Ft. Post Malone)”, “The Tortured Poets Department”, “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys”, “Down Bad”, “So Long, London”, “But Daddy I love Him”, “Fresh Out the Slammer”, “Florida!!! Ft. Florence + The Machine”, “Guilty as Sin?”, “What’s Afraid of Little old me?”, “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)”, “loml”, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart”, “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”, “The Alchemy”, “Clara Bow”, and “The Manuscript (Bonus Track)”. Fans are so excited for the release of this new album, and to see how the album sounds all together!
