Though as time has progressed the tensions have risen, causing for there to be more probable reasons to why the US should officially become involved in supporting Taiwan. The ROC holds great importance for the US, it is the area where the mass production of electronic chips occurs, which is very crucial to the economy. Additionally, Taiwan is a crucial representation of democratic success in the Asian-Pacific region, and their location is immensely important in connecting America with their allies.

This is all leads up to China taking over Taiwan, however this would cause China to become the dominant global power. The world would face multifaceted challenges, in the event that such an event would occur. Not only would it intensify political competition between China and America, but it also poses economic threats, potentially leading to a global economic depression. Furthermore, there are grave humanitarian concerns, particularly in regard to human rights violations and aggressive military tactics. There are many fears that come along with the idea of becoming involved in this serious matter.
